Att förlova sig är en stor händelse i livet och det är få förunnat ha att stunden förevigad på bild. Idag har vi en väldigt speciell fotografering som vi vill dela med er. I april i år gjorde Kayla och Jacob en parfotografering med Jaime Burrow Photography. Kayla hade vunnit en gratis fotografering som hon bokade in på en vacker närliggande ranch. Det hon däremot inte visste var att hennes partner, Jacob, ringt Jamie för att be om hennes hjälp att planera frieriet som kom att äga rum under fotograferingen. Vi låter den blivande bruden berätta om dagen med sina egna ord!

Vi börjar från början, hur träffades ni?

We met in high school! I noticed him in the hallway and thought he was cute. He was always loud and joking around. Then it turned out that he was in a class with me and a mutual friend set us up. We dated for about a month and ended up going our separate ways as most high school kids do! We kept in touch after graduation.. talking briefly here and there. Fast forward 7 years and we began talking again as friends. I was living with my parents at the time and needed some space so I ended up going for a drive. He was messaging me and sent me a video of him singing. I liked his voice a lot and we had been having pretty good conversations so I asked him if I could take him to dinner! He said of course but I live 5 hours away and it's a Sunday. I ended up taking a chance and driving all the way to Midland, Texas to take him to dinner and the rest is history!

Vilken är er hemlighet? Vad gör ert förhållande unikt?

We are actually complete opposites. It works very well for us, most of the time. ;) He keeps me light and free, I try to help keep him grounded and present. We are ying and yang. We both keep each other laughing as he is incredibly funny and I am.. well incredibly goofy. He pushes me to think outside the box and try new things. I help keep him level headed and moving in the right direction. We both love food, especially sweets! I think we can both agree that it's nice to have someone who is always down to go get ice cream! At first, it was a shock to both of our systems how differently we think and communicate but we knew that it was worth figuring out and it was! We are in sync and constantly working to learn more about each other so that we stay that way!

När visste ni att ni var menade för varandra?

I knew Jacob was the one pretty quickly. I had never called into work before but I did the day I went to see him in Midland and that is a huge deal for me. I just wanted to spend as much time as I could with him before I made the long drive back. When I did make it back to Liberty Hill we talked one the phone constantly. Our conversations were always so easy and as cliche as it is, we just clicked. The next weekend he came to visit me and it sealed the deal. I knew that he was the one I wanted to spend the rest of forever with. I had never felt that way before!

For me (Jacob) there were two defining moments that were both equally important to me. All along I had the feeling that she was the one but these moments were distinguishable to me. The first moment was when we were pre-maturely talking about getting married and our wedding (this was three weeks into our relationship as adults) and she automatically included my best friend who had passed away into the mix. That meant so much to me. The second moment was the first time we told each other \"I love you\". Growing up I spent a lot of time with my grandmother, she was a huge part of my life and when Kayla told me she loved me I felt the same love and warmth that my grandmother showed me. Those two moments really confirmed the way that I felt about her.

Berätta om frieriet, hur gick det till?

I had won a discounted photo session with Jaime and scheduled it as soon as I could. I had seen her work and was super excited to have her photograph us! My best friend has a farm in Liberty Hill, TX that is very pretty and offered it to us to use for the shoot. Little did I know, Jacob had called Jaime when I scheduled a date and asked if he could do a surprise proposal during the photo session. She said duh, of course! Jaime and Jacob had it planned where she would have us turn back to back for a pose and that was Jacob's cue. After she asked me to turn around she said she needed to \"fix Jacob's shirt\" which is when she slipped the ring in his shirt pocket. When we turned around she said okay, next pose just rest your hands on his chest! I did and looked up at him and asked, \"Why is your heart beating so fast?\" Jacob just laughed and then began to get down on one knee! I was completely surprised! I had no idea they had planned this or that he even had a ring! It was the one I fell in love with too! I was so excited and surprised. The location of the proposal was special as well because it was on my best friend/cousins land, near where we laid my first dog to rest. He was so special to me and Jacob knew that! All together it was very well planned and special.

Har ni börjat planera bröllopet?

We are so excited to start planning our big day! As we've already discovered in the short time we've been engaged there is A LOT to do but we hope to have fun with the process. We are hoping for a spring wedding. We like the rustic/western theme. We are both very family oriented so we are excited to get to celebrate with our families and close friends.
