Stockholm visade sig från sin allra ljuvligaste sida när Caroline och Reid vigdes på Rosendals Trädgård. Med naturen som kuliss och en avslappnad känsla i luften, blev det ett bröllop präglat av närvaro, innerlighet och skönhet. CAROLINE: We met on a dating app our final year of university in Boston. We dated for about a year and then moved to California together where we live now with our dog Goose. We got engaged in 2023 in San Diego. Reid planned a surprise date and flew out my very pregnant best friend, Katie. We had a party at our house after.

CAROLINE: After we got engaged we had a trip to Stockholm planned. Our first day in Stockholm we had lunch at Rosendals Trädgård and instantly fell in love. Our first thought was "I was we could bring everyone we know here." We reached out to them that same day to get a quote for the wedding and booked the venue a couple months later. We didn't have a theme in mind, we fell in love with the venue as it is and wanted the space to speak for itself. We loved the bright colors and loved a venue that didn't need a lot of extra decoration or florals to make it beautiful.

We planned the wedding virtually from California, scheduling Zoom calls early in the morning for the time difference. Working with the team at Rosendals Trädgård couldn't have been easier. They had such a laidback and professional attitude towards the planning which allowed us to be very relaxed about the day. We visited again one year before the wedding in 2024 to see the venue again and pick a rehearsal dinner location, but we found the planning to be really fun and not stressful.

CAROLINE: Rosendals Trädgård immediately felt like the right place for us. We loved how personalized they were able to make everything, and that the ceremony, dinner and party could all happen in one location. We also loved how close it was to the city center so that our guests could stay nearby and really explore Stockholm.

CAROLINE: For the suit we ended up going with a tuxedo for Reid. We loved the timeless look of it, and felt like the elevated look contrasted with the natural background well. He tried on a few different options for shoes, and ended up getting personalized cufflinks for his groomsmen based on their interests.

For the dress I knew I wanted something clean, but also unique. I tried on dresses with my family, a second time with friends, and then ended up going by myself one day and that's when I found my dress. I knew when I put it on that it was the right one. I loved that it was 3 pieces (corset, underskirt, and overskirt) so that I could repurpose and rewear the pieces in the future. I plan on hemming the under skirt and rewearing the corset for our first anniversary.

CAROLINE: The flowers were a huge reason why we picked Rosendals Trädgård. We saw their abilities and trusted them completely. We had a call with the florist and shared some colors we loved, but ultimately wanted them to use their expertise and creative vision. We did their basic floral package which included the ceremony florals, and then dinner florals. We added on a "flower cloud" above the dining tables, a bridal bouquet, and petals for the flower girl. They created stunning arrangements that brought the space to life, but the space already is so beautiful it doesn't need much! They're true artists!

CAROLINE: For hair and makeup I had to find someone while being in California so I scoured instagram and other sites for recommendations. I saw Lina Beu tagged in some Clarity (our photographers) photos and loved her style. She was so warm and so when we went back in August of 2024 we did a hair and makeup trial. We had an instant connection and I knew I wanted to have her be a part of our wedding day. For hair and makeup I felt strongly that I wanted to look like myself. She was able to accomplish that so effortlessly and also was such a calming presence, which was something that was very important to me.

For the accessories I wore my mother's veil from the 80s, a 3 strand pearl choker, and a diamond bracelet gifted to me by two dear friends who couldn't be there that day. I took off the overskirt after the ceremony and loved that I essentially got to have two looks!

CAROLINE: The wedding was the best day of our lives truly! We woke up at our Airbnb and went on a walk just the two of us to Lille Bros Bageri to get some pastries. We both felt relaxed and excited for the day. Reid then went to his parents Airbnb in Gamla Stan where his groomsmen, father, uncles, and our brother in law got ready.

My bridesmaids, mother, grandma, mother in law, sister in law, cousin, and flower girl all came over to get ready with me. We had such a beautiful morning sharing handwritten letters, and getting ready.

We did our first look at Rosendals Trädgård and took photos. The ceremony was about 20 minutes and we had special readings from our brother and sister in law. The ceremony was so beautiful and very emotional! Immediately after we had the mingle in the orchard. The wind had picked up a little and it sprinkled during the mingle, but it lent itself to a very romantic and dramatic scenery. We had dinner inside the greenhouses followed by first dances and then we danced until 1am! We also gave our two friends camcorders and they took footage all day from getting ready until the end of the night. That footage is priceless and has amazing moments throughout the day.

CAROLINE: My favorite memory was doing saying our personal vows to each other at the ceremony. During mine (Caroline) I referenced a quote from our favorite movie "Before Sunrise." The quote is beautiful and there's a part in it where I say "I know the way you'd part your hair," as soon as I said that the whole crowd erupted in laughter. It took me a second to get it, but Reid is bald so everyone thought it was a joke. It was such a light and funny moment, it felt like everyone in the room was so present.

CAROLINE: The food was the absolute best wedding food we've ever had! The first course was a charred corn soup, and we still get compliments from guests on that to this day. We interspersed speeches throughout the dinner to keep the flow going, which we loved. The dinner felt so lively and the energy in the room was infectious. There were tears and laughs and we did the seating in long tables to give people the chance to mingle with others.

During the party we also had mini hotdogs which were a huge hit! And the cake was amazing! We put out some party favors during the party - we took Zyn tins and put stickers of our dog Goose's face for guests. We also brought about 50 pairs of sunglasses with us for the guests during the party which were also a hit.

CAROLINE: We found Clarity on Instagram, and after an introduction call we knew they'd be the right people to share our day with! We firstly loved that they have a pug, but also that they brought not only their expertise but their authenticity to the experience. We met Lana in August 2024 when we went to Stockholm and did an engagement shoot. The photos were stunning, and we knew that they would capture the day perfectly.

Lana came with an assistant and was able to capture the emotion and feeling of the day better than I ever could have hoped. She was excellent at directing certain moments, but also had an uncanny ability to find special stories hidden throughout the day. I'll always be grateful we chose Clarity for this day. We'll look back on these photos forever and we couldn't be happier.

Tips till andra som planerar bröllop

CAROLINE: I would say pick your priorities and focus on those! There are a million rabbit holes you can go down and a million ways you can spend money that in the end you might not care about at all. We focused on food, a venue that really took care of almost everything, and the guest experience. The food was super important to us, and we knew no matter what that Rosendals would be able to deliver an amazing experience which they did! Picking a venue that did almost everything in house (especially while planning across the world) was so comforting and allowed us to be relaxed. We didn't have a planner or coordinator.

We also knew almost all of our guests were flying from very far away and we wanted to experience to be seamless and unforgettable for them. There is definitely a place for huge florals, lots of printed materials, and extravagant decorations, but what we wanted to offer our guests was more a feeling. We decided the printed materials would probably be overlooked, and the venue was so beautiful on its own, we wanted to focus more on how we brought our guests together.
