Lake Tahoe i Kalifornien är en populär destination för de som önskar sig ett naturbröllop. Här finns magiska vyer och gott om vackra lokaler att gifta sig i. Ett par som valde att planera sitt bröllop här är Alyssa och Patrick. De föll för naturområdet när de flyttade till Kalifornien och visste direkt att det var platsen för deras bröllop. Efter en lång längtan kom till slut stunden, en solig sommardag i augusti 2019. Bröllopet är ett så fint naturbröllop med vigsel på en platå med utsikt över sjön. Vi spanar in fotona från dagen, tagna av VILD Photography, samtidigt som vi får höra brudens berättelse om den stora dagen.

Alyssa: Patrick and I actually met while both attending Indiana University, he was in his second year of law school and I was finishing my business bachelor's degree. After I graduated, I moved to Chicago (which is a 5 hour drive from campus) for work while he finished his last year of law school. We spent that year alternating weekends between who drove to who, and that was the most challenging but rewarding part of our relationship thus far. As he was getting ready to graduate, we wanted to move together to Sacramento, California. So on his spring break, we visited Sacramento for a few days to check out the area (where I also fell in love with Tahoe) and see if we could envision ourselves living there. We both love basketball, so we had gotten tickets to the Sacramento Kings game.
We were in our Airbnb getting ready for the game when he got down on his knee and proposed. It was absolutely perfect- he shared his raw emotions and expressed his love for me in a way I had never heard or seen him do before and of course there was not a question in my mind. That's when I realized it really doesn't matter where your proposal happens for the \"Insta worthy\" post, but it's really about the moment you decide to spend your entire life with your partner- the high's and low's and everything in between. We decided to move to Sacramento on that trip and the rest is well, history!

Alyssa: I know all the articles will say to try on as many dresses as possible, but in my experience, when you know you know. When I tried on my wedding gown for the first time, my face completely lit up and I just knew that was meant to be my dress. It was the perfect blend of boho and chic: with beautiful jewels, beads and designs on the deep v-neck top, and layers of loose tool flowing from my waist down to create the perfect A-line shape. It was comfortable enough to dance the night away in, while looking stunning in photos. Patrick loves the gray tux look, so he kept it simple with a matching gray tux, brown belt and shoes, and a purple bowtie to complete the look.

Alyssa: We utilized flowers to add a subtle pop of color throughout the ceremony and reception. My bouquet was full of white peonies, white roses, baby's breath, and beautiful eucalyptus greenery. The bridesmaids featured a simple arrangement of wisteria roses, baby's breath and greenery. Patrick's boutonniere featured a small arrangement of white roses on top of eucalyptus leaves. The groomsmens' boutonnieres had eucalyptus leaves and baby's breath. Our ceremony arch was adorned with a beautiful arrangement of gardenia, baby's breath, soft pink and orange carnations, and an assortment of greenery. We really wanted the decor emphasis to be on Lake Tahoe, so I wanted the flowers to be a subtle complement to the natural beauty of the giant pines and Tahoe.

Alyssa: We decided against a first look, so I could not wait to see Patrick's face as I walked down the aisle. I had joked with him about whether or not he would cry, knowing that he is not normally one to express his emotions in public like that setting. But when he caught his first glimpse of me, I immediately noticed he began to stifle back tears, until eventually a few started running down his cheeks as he had the biggest smile I have ever seen on his face. When I got to him, he whispered to me how absolutely beautiful I looked, how much he loves me and how lucky he is to marry me. I will never forget that moment, and I still get butterflies thinking about it.

Alyssa: Ours wedding was a destination wedding, so we had about 70 guests. This really allowed us to connect and chat with our close family and friends who were there. We really value our close relationships with family and friends, so this was very important for us. It was many guests' first time in Tahoe, so the tram ride up the mountain to the ceremony and reception location at 8200 feet elevation really provided context to the sheer size of Lake Tahoe. It was awesome to see our loved ones enjoy our favorite place for our big day!
