Creative Wedding Portraits: Hami + Sven
Hami from Japan and Sven from Sweden got married this summer i northern Sweden. One week later they embarked on a photographic voyage together with Australian photographer Liam Warton (who is based in Stockholm) for some extra creative wedding portraits. We at Sisters in Law have followed Liam’s work for a long time, and it is definitely safe to say that his photos look like no one else’s.
Liam challenges everything traditional, and that’s also why he attracts many couple’s who want something different than the classic wedding photos we have seen so many times. His images are often modernistic and should probably be describes as pieces of art rather than wedding photos. But even though Liam’s wedding portraits are both provocative and unusual, he is a master of capturing the essence of the persons and the feelings that he portraits. See for yourself, and enjoy!
Here’s how Hami, the bride, describes the shoot:
“For the photo shoot, we brought two different outfits that we liked and that we thought would both stand out against any background and go well together. For fun we also brought some masks that we bought when we were in Venezia. We didn't decide the details of the photo shoot in beforehand, instead we to be spontaneous and only picked a starting location which was besides a beautiful lake. However, as we arrived at the station we really liked the industrial roughness and started the photoshoot there. The spontaneous nature of the photoshoot and Liam's skills in improvising really made our photo shoot something special.
Liam has great eyes for photography, he comes up with many ideas, compositions and variations very fast. To add to that he is also very attentive and we came up with some of our favorite shots together. If you want to take wedding photos with Liam, we recommend to give him the freedom to be creative.
Looking at the result, we were extremely happy with the outcome, it became even better than we had ever hoped."
