Hunting Wild Flowers: Erika + Romain
Erika and Romain got married a June day with nature as their biggest source of inspiration. "Hunting wild flowers" is how the bride and groom themselves describe their wedding, which is in good agreement with both the surroundings and the fact that they gathered all the flowers for the bridal bouquet, flower wreath and decorations from nature.

But let's now be inspired by Erika and Romain's wedding, as the bride Erika tells us more about here.
How the couple met
Erika: Romain and I met in Switzerland in 2005 when we studied at the same university. He was soon finished with the studies, I had just started. A few years later we were still together, though we lived on each side of the globe, he in Hong Kong and I in Switzerland. After that, we lived in Dubai, then Bangkok, 8 years later, Romain surprised me with an engagement in a nature reserve north of Bangkok. The summer after that, we got married in Sweden, after a very fun adventure that we would love to repeat.
Clothing and flowers
Erika: We both knew what we wanted, so the best thing was to order custom made outfits. We did the most things ourselves with flowers we picked.
The location of the wedding
Erika: It was quite difficult to find a place that offered everything we were looking for. And it was not easy to look for locations when we were far away from Sweden. But fortunately we found the Beckershof, it really had everything! An incredibly nice place, close to nature but still elegant. We were able to have over 100 guests and both family and closest friends could stay on site. We had three possible places to have the reception in on the farm itself. There was a barn, an old house and an old stable. We chose the barn, a simple barn where they store boats and tractors in wintertime and snowmobiles in the summer. It was an ordinary barn that had never been used as a party venue before. There was a lot to be done and Romain's mother was actually skeptical right up to the wedding dinner itself, because she didn't think we could make it. There was so much to be done, including clearing, adding new floors and then decorate everything.
Erika: We knew that we wanted a ceremonial site where nature was present. The forest was a bit difficult to get into so we decided to be wedded in a small birch forest on the property. The ceremony was really very special. There was something spiritual about the place, with the wind going through the trees. And the priest was perfect, such a beautiful and thoughtful person who made the whole ceremony so deep and personal.
The best memory from the day
Erika: When I saw all our friends and family in the same place in the birch forest where we were wedded. It was absolutely magical to think that everyone was there to celebrate us.
Advice to others who are planning their wedding
Do not underestimate the importance of the person holding the ceremony. Our ceremony was amazing, all thanks to our wonderful priest.
There will always be small details that will not be as planned. But don't worry, it will work out.
Enjoy every moment! For us, it was such an amazing moment, we had people literally coming from all over the world to share this important time with us.
