Industrial And Relaxed Autumn Wedding: Ida + Robin

On October 20th, 2018, Ida and Robin celebrated their love with a bursting autumn wedding. In a rustic, industrial room, they are joined in the company of their closest friends and family. Neither Ida nor Robin are such people who like the more formal look, so they invested in a wedding that felt relaxed and comfortable instead. The couple chose to bring the photographer Emilia from Alma Stories during the day, which has taken these lovely pictures.

We wish Ida and Robin all the luck in the future, and thanks them for sharing their day! It is now time to let Ida take us through today's wedding story.

How the couple met

Ida: We became a couple during the summer of 2005. We were 16 and 17 years old. We knew about each other since high school and it was of a pure chance that our roads crossed one day during the summer which then became the start for us. Robin proposed on my birthday the 12th of May, 2018.

Clothing

Ida: I knew I wanted white converse to my dress so I started my dress planning with the shoes in mind, not the other way around. I am not comfortable in shoes with heels so therefore the shoes were an important part of my choice.

Robin also wanted a casual style as he is not comfortable in a suit. Therefore it became a natural choice with boots, shirt and with nice details like bow tie and suspenders.

The bridal bouquet

Hanna who made my bouquet got free hands. I had said that I wanted what nature had to offer at the moment. And that’s the type of bouquet it became!

The Ceremony

The wedding ceremony was great. The place we got was exactly what we wanted. An old building with its rustic charm. The room itself was so nice that it hardly needed decorations. Some ivy, candles and red autumn apples were the decor.

Theme And Inspiration

Our theme that we went for should be relaxed, industrial, and that all guests would feel comfortable. We were looking for venues that fell to our taste and then we arranged the rest based on the style of the rooms.

About the photographer Emilia / Alma Stories

We heard about Emilia where I re-made my dress at Esther Franke. I went to her Instagram and fell in love with the feelings of her pictures. The light, the motives and the way she caught the feeling that was just in the moment.

Advice to others who are planning their wedding

Do not stress yourselves unnecessarily. Everything will be okay and if it will not be as you intended it will be fine anyway. During the day, everything will be on top and amazing regardless of what is missing from your planned image of the day. Remember to really enjoy everything, the day goes by so quickly!
